Anup Agarwal was named deputy chief investment officer at Global Atlantic Financial Group, the firm announced Tuesday.
The position is new, a spokeswoman said. Mr. Agarwal will report to Gilles Dellaert, co-president and CIO.
Mr. Agarwal was chief investment officer of Western Asset Mortgage Capital, a real estate investment trust managed by Western Asset Management.
Sean Johnson, portfolio manager, and Dennis McNamara, director of portfolio operations, will be interim co-CIOs while Western Asset searches for a replacement, a Western Asset spokesman said.
