Raymond Yin was named managing director, head of China onshore, at UBS Asset Management.
The position is new, a UBS spokeswoman said. Mr. Yin will oversee the firm's business strategy in China, including developing its UBS-SDIC investment management joint venture with the State Development & Investment Corp., China's state-owned investment holdings firm.
He will report to Rene Buehlmann, head of Asia-Pacific.
Mr. Yin was CEO of Chongyang International Asset Management, and partner and head of the international division at Shanghai Chongyang Investment Management, according to a UBS news release. Information on his replacement at Chongyang could not be learned.
UBS Asset Management had 815 billion Swiss francs ($830 billion) in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
