Butte County, Oroville, Calif., hired Nationwide Financial as sole record keeper of its $51 million 457 plan and $3 million 3121 plan, according to a video of the county board of supervisors' meeting Tuesday posted on its website.
The county issued an RFP in March. Both incumbent record keepers Empower Retirement and ICMA-RC rebid for the services and were also the other finalists.
Empower Retirement and ICMA-RC both served the 457 plan, while Empower is the sole record keeper of the 3121 plan, which serves part-time, seasonal and temporary county employees.
Nationwide Financial's 10-year contract is due to begin on Jan. 1.
Investment consultant Hyas Group assisted.
