Michael C. Ho was named global head of multiasset and alternatives at Janus Henderson Investors, a spokeswoman said.
The role is new, and Mr. Ho starts Jan. 14.
He will be responsible for and oversee the firm's asset allocation, multistrategy and alternatives teams worldwide. Based in London, he will join the firm's executive committee.
Those reporting to Mr. Ho include Ash Alankar, head of global asset allocation investments; David Elms, head of diversified alternatives; and Paul O'Connor, head of multiasset U.K.
"Following a thorough review of high-caliber candidates, we believe (Mr. Ho) has the right investment and research expertise, as well as management experience, to continue building our growing multiasset and alternatives team into a globally cohesive, client-focused investment business," Enrique Chang, global chief investment officer at Janus Henderson, said in a news release.
Janus Henderson has $378 billion in assets under management.
Mr. Ho was chief investment officer of investment solutions at UBS Asset Management. A spokeswoman for the money manager confirmed the departure.
Ryan Primmer was named head of investment solutions at UBS in June, a role in which he sets the overall investment strategy for investment solutions. He worked with Mr. Ho to transition prior to his departure in November.
