Carrie Green was named director of equities for the Tennessee Department of Treasury, said Shelli King, spokeswoman for state Treasurer David H. Lillard Jr., in an email.
Ms. Green will oversee the $26 billion equities portfolio of the $49.5 billion Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, Nashville, along with equities in other state portfolios overseen by Mr. Lillard.
The equities portfolio consists mostly of internally managed active and passive domestic and international stocks, with some externally managed assets in developed international markets, the news release said.
Ms. Green previously was senior portfolio manager of private equity assets. She replaces Michael Keeler, who will continue in his other role as midcap equity portfolio manager.
Ms. Green' appointment is part of a long-term succession plan, Ms. King said. She also noted the department will be looking to fill the private equity vacancy very soon.
