Dominik Kremer was named head of business development at Unigestion, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Mr. Kremer will start Feb. 1 and will lead business development strategy globally. He will also sit on the executive committee.
"We are thrilled to see (Mr. Kremer) join Unigestion at this pivotal point in our strategic growth," CEO Fiona Frick said in a news release. "No doubt his experience, his vision and his leadership skills will make a huge contribution to the design of the overall business development strategy for Unigestion and help us reach our ambitious goals."
Mr. Kremer was head of institutional distribution for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Latin America at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. A spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that Dominik Kremer has resigned from Columbia Threadneedle, and we wish him well. His last day at the firm will be Jan. 31." She declined to provide details of his replacement.
Unigestion has $26.2 billion in assets under management.
