Private equity executives might own sports teams, but now venture capitalists can feel like power hitters with a new line of baseball-type trading cards featuring stars of their game.
While keeping the complete list of featured talent a surprise for collectors, Danielle Baskin, founder and creative director of Danielle LLC, the company offering the TouchBase line of VC trading cards, shared a few players in the current lineup.
The TouchBase line's 2010 Gig Economy Series has investors like Scott Weiss, a general partner at venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, and Ann Miura-Ko, a founding partner at seed venture capital firm Floodgate, an investor in TaskRabbit. The 2015 Unicorn series has Chris Sacca, co-founder of Lowercase Capital, an investor in Twitter, and Michael Moritz, partner at Sequoia Capital, an investor in Stripe, Ms. Baskin said.
Each pack comes with five cards ranging from angel investors to venture capital firm executives. So collectors might need to buy several packs to get a Mary Meeker, partner at Kleiner Perkins; a Jenny Lee, managing partner at GGV Capital; and a Donald Valentine, a founding partner of Sequoia Capital. The cards are available to buy for $60 per pack at vctradingcards.com.
Like the baseball version, the packs will come with a stick of gum.
