BlackRock Monday appointed Geraldine Buckingham, the New York-based money management giant's global head of corporate strategy, as chair and head of BlackRock Asia-Pacific, effective Feb. 1.
Ms. Buckingham will replace Ryan Stork. Mr. Stork will relocate to New York from Hong Kong to take on the role of deputy global chief operating officer.
A BlackRock spokeswoman said a replacement for Ms. Buckingham's current role as global head of corporate strategy will be announced in the near future.
A BlackRock news release said Ms. Buckingham has been a key architect of BlackRock's strategy in the Asia-Pacific region, including helping to develop the firm's long-term growth strategy for China.
Ms. Buckingham couldn't immediately be reached for further comment.
Mr. Stork will take on the role of deputy global COO from Patrick Olson, said the spokeswoman. Mr. Olson's new role will be announced before Feb. 1, she said.
