Mohamad Nasir Ab Latif, deputy CEO (investment) for Malaysia's 813.2 billion ringgit ($194.6 billion) Employees Provident Fund, will serve in that capacity through Dec. 31, 2019, according to an EPF news release.
Mr. Mohamad Nasir has reached the official retirement age of 60, a Kuala Lumpur-based EPF spokeswoman confirmed.
But with the departure of longtime CEO Shahril Ridza Ridzuan, in August to run the government's strategic investment arm, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, and his replacement by deputy CEO Alizakri Alias, the EPF news release said the deputy CEO of investment would stay on to ensure a "smooth succession plan."
The spokeswoman said the deputy CEO (investment) role effectively makes Mr. Mohamad Nasir the EPF's chief investment officer.
