Charlotte Laurent was named head of sales at BNP Paribas Capital Partners, the alternative investments subsidiary of BNP Paribas Asset Management, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Ms. Laurent is responsible for developing BNPP CP's alternative offerings for European investors, including pension funds, insurance companies, banks and family offices.
"(Ms. Laurent) has considerable knowledge of the institutional and private banking markets in France, Switzerland and Benelux, as well as extensive experience of developing fixed income- and derivative-based solutions to meet the specific requirements of clients in these markets," said Gilles Guerin, CEO of BNP Paribas Capital Partners, in a news release. "This will be invaluable as we expand our offering and capabilities across Europe,"
Ms. Laurent was senior vice president, business development at Bedrock Asset Management. A Bedrock spokesman could not be reached.
BNP Paribas Capital Partners has €7 billion ($8 billion) in assets under management.
