Micaela Forelli was named head of European distribution at M&G Prudential and will be based in Luxembourg, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Ms. Forelli is responsible for expanding M&G's wholesale and institutional presence in Europe and reports to Jonathan Willcocks, global head of distribution.
Ms. Forelli has led the M&G global banks team since 2010 and its Swiss business since 2016. She retains her responsibilities as director of global banks, a news release said.
"(Ms. Forelli's) immense experience helping grow M&G's international business over the last 17 years will be a huge benefit to our customers across the continent as we further expand our Luxembourg SICAV platform and MiFID II distribution arm," Mr. Willcocks said in the news release.
M&G Prudential has £351 billion ($450 billion) in assets under management.
