Rezo Kanovich was named managing director and portfolio manager at Artisan Partners Asset Management, the company announced Wednesday in its third quarter earnings call.
The position is new. Mr. Kanovich joined the firm Oct. 15.
He is sole portfolio manager for the $606 million Artisan Non-U.S. Small-Cap Growth Strategy, including the Artisan International Small Cap Fund, currently closed to new investors. Both the strategy and the fund will reopen to new investors and will be renamed later in the fourth quarter, changing their focus to a small-cap and midcap strategy.
The portfolio and fund had been managed by portfolio manager Mark Yockey, according to Artisan Partners' website. Mr. Yockey will continue to manage Artisan global and non-U.S. growth equity strategies.
Mr. Kanovich was portfolio manager of the Oppenheimer International Small-Mid Company Fund. He was replaced at Oppenheimer by portfolio manager Frank Jennings, a spokeswoman said.
