Oklahoma State Regents earmarks $44.2 million for 6 alternatives funds

Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, Oklahoma City, agreed to allocate a total of $44.2 million to six alternatives funds on behalf of the regents' $748 million endowment trust fund, spokeswoman Angela Caddell confirmed in an email.

The regents agreed to allocate $10 million to a long/short equity hedge fund managed by Maverick Capital; $8.6 million to an offshore hedge fund managed by Cider Mill Investments; and $7 million to FS Equity Partners VIII, a private equity fund managed by Freeman Spogli & Co.

It is also allocated $6.2 million each to Cevian Capital II, an activist European hedge fund; Criterion Vista, an offshore hedge fund managed by Criterion Capital Management; and Lombard Odier Investment Managers' 1798 U.K. small-cap hedge fund.
