Gillian Brown was named senior managing director, capital markets, at the C$193.9 billion ($148.8 billion) Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, Toronto, the pension plan announced Tuesday.
She replaces Ziad Hindo, who was named chief investment officer at OTPP on June 26, Mr. Hindo replaced Bjarne Graven Larsen, who left the pension fund in April. Ms. Brown will report directly to Mr. Hindo, according to a news release.
Ms. Brown was managing director, credit, insurance-linked securities and equity products, according to the news release.
Also, Danilo Simonelli was named managing director, alternative investments, overseeing Ontario Teachers' hedge fund investments. Mr. Simonelli will report to Ms. Brown, the release said. He was director, developed markets fixed income and currencies, at Ontario Teachers.
Neither Ms. Brown nor Mr. Simonelli will be replaced, an Ontario Teachers spokesman said.
