Baltimore City Fire & Police Employees' Retirement System hired NEPC as investment consultant, said Amy E. Baskerville, spokeswoman, in an email.
The $2.7 billion pension fund conducted an invitation-only search in August following the announcement that the pension fund's incumbent consultant, Summit Strategies Group, was selling its public pension fund consulting business to AndCo Consulting. The firm was a finalist along with Meketa Investment Group.
As of July 31, the pension fund's allocation was: 27.4% domestic equities, 18% domestic fixed income, 17.7% international developed markets equities, 9.4% real estate, 7% direct hedge funds, 6.7% private equity, 5.8% emerging markets equities, 5.3% master limited partnerships and 2.7% private energy.
