Kanesh Lakhani was named president and CEO, European division, at Fiera Capital, said a spokeswoman.
Mr. Lakhani replaced Jayne Sutcliffe, president and CEO, European division. The spokeswoman said Ms. Sutcliffe left in June.
Mr. Lakhani joined Tuesday and is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm's overall strategy, new initiatives, hiring and sales and business development activity in Europe. He is based in London.
His "global financial experience as a senior executive at major investment firms makes him a perfect candidate to take over as the European CEO of Fiera Capital," said Vincent Duhamel, global president and chief operating officer, in a news release.
Fiera Capital has C$139.4 billion ($107.1 billion) in assets under management.
Mr. Lakhani joined from First State Investments, where he was managing director, Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia distribution, said the release. Chris Turpin, regional managing director, global marketing and responsible investment, assumed responsibility for those duties.
