Lori Lucas, president and CEO of Employee Benefit Research Institute, will be awarded the Distinguished Woman Investment Professional of the Year award on Oct. 18 at the Women Investment Professionals' annual Trailblazers Dinner.
As the president and CEO of EBRI, Ms. Lucas leads the Washington-based group in its mission to provide unbiased, fact-based research and data on retirement, health care and other benefits that provide financial security for American workers. Formerly, Ms. Lucas was an executive vice president and practice leader at Callan LLC, where she led its defined contribution business, and developed research and insights into retirement trends for the benefit of clients and the industry. She is also the immediate past chairwoman of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association.
"Lori is a recognized leader in the retirement industry," said Christina Cryer, president of WIP and head of U.S. consultant relations for WisdomTree Asset Management, in a news release. "Throughout her career, she has worked tirelessly to help American workers save for retirement through her work in policy, research and consulting with plan sponsors and institutional investors."
The Distinguished Woman Investment Professional award seeks to recognize a leading figure for her contributions and achievements in the institutional investment management industry, according to WIP. Nominations for the award are put forth by WIP members and ultimately selected by the WIP board of directors.
