Pennsylvania State University's endowment posted a net return of 7.8% for the year ended June 30, bringing its value to $3 billion, according to a report by the University Park, Pa.-based school.
The endowment's annualized returns for the three, five, 10 and 20 years as of June 30 were 6.4%, 7.9%, 6.6% and 7%, respectively.
As of June 30, the university's endowment had an allocation of 50% equities, 20% private equity/venture capital, 12% fixed-income/short-term investments, 10% diversifying (hedged) strategies, and 8% real assets. Penn State didn't disclose how individual strategies performed.
The endowment posted a return of 12.6% for the year ended June 30, 2017.
University spokeswoman Lisa Powers could not be immediately reached for additional comment.
