Charlie Haase was named managing director at Aetos Japan, the Tokyo-based wholly owned subsidiary of Aetos Capital Real Estate.
The position is a new one, a spokesman for the company said.
Mr. Haase comes to Aetos Japan from Tokyu Land Corp., where he served as general manager of the firm's U.S. planning group, according to an Aetos news release.
A spokesman for Tokyu Land couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Before Tokyu Land, Mr. Haase served for more than eight years as a real estate investment officer with the $227.6 billion California State Teachers' Retirement System, West Sacramento.
Shinichiro No, Aetos Japan's managing director and representative director, said in the news release that Mr. Haase will be a key addition as the firm continues to build its fund and separate account businesses.
