Goldman Sachs Asset Management CIO to retire next year

Jonathan Beinner, chief investment officer and co-head of global fixed income and liquidity solutions at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, will retire on March 31, 2019, according to an internal memo obtained by Pensions & Investments.

Andrew Wilson, CEO and co-head of global fixed income and liquidity solutions, will become the sole head of the team.

Deputy co-CIOs Sam Finkelstein, partner and head of macro strategies, and Ashish Shah, partner and head of global corporate credit, will replace Mr. Beinner as chief investment officer. A Goldman Sachs spokesman said Messrs. Finkelstein and Shah also will retain their current responsibilities.

As CIO, Mr. Beinner oversees $800 billion in assets for GSAM.

After his retirement, Mr. Beinner will remain with GSAM as an advisory director, according to the memo.
