Yale University's $29.4 billion endowment returned a net 12.3% for the fiscal year ended June 30.
A news release from the New Haven, Conn.-based university said Monday the endowment returned an annualized net 7.4% and 11.8%, respectively, for the 10 and 20 years ended June 30. The return was a net 11.3% for the previous fiscal year, which ended June 30, 2017.
By asset class, for the 10 years ended June 30 venture capital returned an annualized 16%, followed by international equities at 14%, domestic equities at 12.4%, leveraged buyouts at 10.2%, absolute return at 4.8%, real estate at 2.7% and natural resources at 1.7%. Annual returns by asset class were not provided.
The endowment's targets are: 26% absolute return; 18% venture capital; 15.5% international equities; 15% leveraged buyouts; 9.5% real estate; 6.5% each. fixed income/cash and natural resources; and 3% domestic equities.
