Howe Chung Wan was named managing director, head of Asian fixed income at Principal Global Investors, a spokeswoman said in an email.
It is a newly created position, part of Principal's development of an Asia fixed-income team and expansion of emerging markets debt capabilities, a news release said.
Mr. Wan was previously head of Asia fixed income at Amundi. A spokeswoman for Amundi did not respond to requests for comment.
