Lorenzo Newsome Jr. was named chief investment officer of Smith Graham & Co. Investment Advisors, according to a news release.
Mr. Newsome will focus on Smith Graham's fixed-income group, which managed about 77% of the firm's $6 billion in assets as of Dec. 31, according to Pensions & Investments' Research Center.
Mr. Newsome was executive vice president, chief investment strategist and portfolio manager at Piedmont Investment Advisors, according to the Smith Graham news release.
