The $151.2 billion Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, is searching for a director to run the fund's emerging managers program, confirmed Robert Maxwell, a spokesman for the fund.
The posted job seeks an experienced investment professional whose duties at TRS will include money manager sourcing and due diligence across the fund's asset classes including private equity, hedge funds, real estate and long-only strategies, according to the job description.
Sylvia Bell, TRS' chief operating officer who has led the emerging manager program since 2015, said in a news release that the time is "ideal" for putting a dedicated person in charge of the emerging manager program.
"We desire to find the right person to build even stronger relationships within the emerging manager community," Ms. Bell said, adding "we need someone who is capable of managing multibillion relationships across private and public asset classes and who can continue to actively integrate the program with investment initiatives across the trust."
The salary range for the position is between $135,000 and $229,000, the job description said.
