Scott A. Lupkas was named vice president, pension investments at Raytheon Co., Waltham, Mass., said a news release issued by the company.
Mr. Lupkas will oversee Raytheon's $38 billion in combined pension and defined contribution funds. He will report to Kevin DaSilva, vice president, treasurer.
Although Mr. Lupkas has a different title, he has the same responsibilities as Raytheon's former vice president and CIO Sanjay Chawla, who left the company in April to become property insurer FM Global's senior vice president and chief investment officer.
Mr. Lupkas was senior managing director of diversifying strategies at the $56.7 billion UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust, Detroit. It could not be learned if he was replaced; spokeswoman Patricia McCarthy could not be immediately reached.
Raytheon spokeswoman Brandie Gerrish could not be reached for comment.
