New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, invested or committed a total of $150 million to international equity and private equity, according to a notice on the website of state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, the sole trustee of the $209.2 billion pension fund.
The pension fund hired Barings in July to manage $125 million in small-cap international equities benchmarked to the MSCI EAFE Small Cap index, the notice said.
Also in July, the pension fund committed $25 million to Hahn & Co. III, a middle-market buyout fund focused on companies in South Korea. The pension fund has committed to previous Hahn funds.
