Invesco Real Estate picks head of European research

Mike Bessell joined Invesco (IVZ) Real Estate as head of European research, a spokesman said.

Mr. Bessell replaced Kim Politzer, who joined Fidelity International as director of research-European real estate in March.

Mr. Bessell, also a senior director-European research strategist, leads the firm's dedicated in-house research team across Europe. He also plays a key role in Invesco Real Estate Europe's investment strategy group by providing greater standardization on the analysis of investment allocations, a news release said.

Mr. Bessell will lead the research team across London, Paris and Munich. His "appointment is key to our business, both globally and in Europe, as he helps to shape, develop and communicate the forecasts and strategy recommendations that are fundamental to (Invesco Real Estate's) client mandates," Andy Rofe, managing director-Europe, said in the news release.

Mr. Bessell was head of European real estate equity research at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, the release said.

Invesco Real Estate has €9.3 billion ($10.8 billion) in assets under management.
