Dominick Mondi was named CEO of Mesirow Financial, effective Oct. 1.
He replaces Richard Price, who will remain with Mesirow as executive chairman of the firm through 2023, the company said in a news release.
As executive chairman, Mr. Price will "maintain a critical position" in executing Mesirow's strategic plan to grow the business organically and through acquisitions, the release said.
Mr. Mondi will retain his title and responsibilities as president of the firm, a company spokeswoman said. He was named company president in 2017.
Mesirow had $32.7 billion in assets under management as of June 30, and $78.6 billion in currency assets under advisement.
