Lindsay Wright joined Matthews Asia in Hong Kong as head of Asia and global chief operating officer, according to an announcement Thursday from the San Francisco-based money management firm.
Ms. Wright's role, overseeing the firm's business in Asia, is a new one. She will report to CEO William Hackett.
Ms. Wright comes to Matthews Asia from BNY Mellon Investment Management, where she served as co-head of investment management and head of distribution, Asia-Pacific.
A BNY Mellon spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for information on a replacement.
The Matthews Asia news release also announced the opening of an office in Singapore. A spokeswoman for the firm didn't respond to questions about who would lead the new office.
The release said Matthews "expects to make new distribution and marketing hires in Singapore and Hong" in coming months.
