Peter Ball was named managing director at Nomura Asset Management U.K., a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Ball replaces Andreas Koerner. He is responsible for all aspects of distribution and client relations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa starting Sept. 10.
Mr. Koerner was head of marketing and client relations for Europe. Further details about Mr. Koerner's next appointment could not be immediately learned.
"(Mr. Ball's) long track record and experience of launching, selling and marketing sophisticated investment solutions and leading global distribution teams will be enormously beneficial as NAM U.K. looks at ways to enhance its services," Richard Bisson, CEO of NAM U.K., said in a news release.
Mr. Ball was head of global distribution and director of institutional business at Kames Capital, leaving the business in January. A spokeswoman said Jill Johnston, previously institutional business development manager, took over responsibility for the institutional sales team following Mr. Ball's departure.
Nomura Asset Management has $493 billion in assets under management globally.
