Daniel Booth was named the permanent chief investment officer of Border to Coast Pensions Partnership, Leeds, England, a £46 billion ($59.6 billion) pool of 12 U.K. local authority pension funds, a spokeswoman said.
The role is new. Mr. Booth will replace interim CIO John Harrison during the fourth quarter.
"(Mr. Booth) brings a strong understanding of the investment world, and in particular in private markets, an area of focus for us, together with hands-on experience of building an investment function for a long-term asset owner in his previous role. I would also like to thank John Harrison for all his guidance, support and sheer hard work during 2018," CEO Rachel Elwell said in a news release.
Mr. Booth previously worked at Saudi Aramco as head of portfolio management. He was responsible for corporate pension, insurance and endowment portfolios, which invested globally across all asset classes. A spokeswoman could not be reached by press time to comment about a replacement.
