Sweta Chattopadhyay was named director of private markets at consultant bfinance, a spokeswoman said.
Ms. Chattopadhyay heads the private equity advisory practice and is responsible for manager search and selection, advising on direct and co-investments, portfolio strategy and design.
Anne Feuillen was previously private equity head at bfinance, the spokeswoman said. She has since taken a job with the pension funds of BAE Systems, Crawley, England.
"However, the substance of the role is quite different today due to the needs of bfinance's clients. With investors looking for more control and more sophistication in private equity, bfinance's approach is evolving as we look to provide deeper support across the range of implementation approaches that an investor may pursue," the spokeswoman said.
Ms. Chattopadhyay was previously a senior investment manager at RPMI Railpen, the manager for the £27 billion ($34.4 billion) Railways Pensions Scheme, London, where she was responsible for leading private equity and debt investments. A Railpen spokesman declined to comment on any replacement.
"Having been an institutional investor for most of her career, she brings valuable perspective on managing portfolios as well as sourcing and executing transactions," Peter Hobbs, head of private markets at bfinance, said in a news release.
