Nickol Hackett, executive director and chief investment officer of the Cook County Employees' Annuity & Benefit Fund and the Cook County Forest Preserve District Employees' Annuity & Benefit Fund, both of Chicago, plans to step down at the end of her current contract, according to a news release.
Ms. Hackett has not yet left the pension funds, which have a combined $10.4 billion in assets, said a fund spokeswoman. Details of when her contract will expire or Ms. Hackett's plans after leaving the funds weren't provided.
The board of the two funds will select an interim executive director at a later date but has begun a search for a permanent replacement, the spokeswoman said.
Ms. Hackett joined the pension funds in 2008.
In the release, Lawrence Wilson, board president, said the pension funds have "grown stronger and more operationally sound" under Ms. Hackett's leadership.
