Rajat Agrawal joined BlackRock in Mumbai as a managing director on the firm's Asian private credit team.
The position is new on a BlackRock global credit platform with more than $80 billion in client assets invested across multistrategy credit, leveraged finance and private credit, said a spokeswoman for the firm based in Hong Kong.
Mr. Agrawal will report to Neeraj Seth, Singapore-based managing director and head of Asian credit.
Mr. Agrawal comes to BlackRock from DBS India, where he served as executive director of the bank's institutional banking group, responsible for "monitoring and recovering non-performing loans and stressed assets," according to a BlackRock news release.
