Diarmuid Ryan was named global head of hedge fund services at BNP Paribas Securities Services, a spokesman said.
The role is new. Mr. Ryan focuses on relationships with new and existing clients globally and delivers tailored digital services. "(Mr. Ryan's) appointment reinforces our commitment to the alternative investment sector across the globe," Ian Lynch, global head of alternatives, said in a news release.
Mr. Ryan previously worked at State Street's alternative investment solutions business, where he was a managing director. Details of Mr. Ryan's replacement were not immediately available.
BNP Paribas SS has €9.4 trillion ($10.9 trillion) in assets under custody.
