John J. Studzinski, senior managing director and vice chairman of investor relations and business development at Blackstone Group, will leave at the end of August.
Mr. Studzinski joined Blackstone in 2006 as head of the firm's restructuring and merger advisory unit, Blackstone Advisory Partners.
In his current role, Mr. Studzinski's focus has been on sovereign wealth funds and wealthy families, according to Bloomberg.
Blackstone will not immediately replace Mr. Studzinski, said Christine Anderson, a company spokeswoman.
Ms. Anderson said Mr. Studzinski has not announced his future plans, but he told Bloomberg in an interview that he is "evaluating offers in finance."
Blackstone Group managed $439 billion in private equity and other alternative investment strategies as of June 30.
