Philipp Hensler was named president and chief operating officer of value equity manager Epoch Investment Partners, effective Wednesday.
He is replacing Timothy T. Taussig, one of the firm's co-founders, who will retire at year-end, confirmed Fleming Meeks, a company spokesman.
Mr. Hensler was president and CEO of Vontobel Asset Management, where he was replaced in May by Thomas Wittwer.
"Philipp brings to the role extensive experience working with ... a broad array of sophisticated asset allocators, while his earlier background as a global equities investor add valuable breadth to his perspective," said William Priest, Epoch's co-founder, CEO and co-chief investment officer, in a company news release.
Epoch manages $42.2 billion; Vontobel manages $34.7 billion.
