Dennis Smith resigned as chief investment officer of the $905 million Ohio State Highway Patrol Retirement System, Columbus, said Mark R. Atkeson, executive director.
Mr. Smith left the pension fund to join the $99.6 billion Ohio Public Employees' Retirement System, Columbus, as associate counsel – benefits, OPERS spokesman Michael Pramik said.
Mr. Atkeson said he is taking on Mr. Smith's responsibilities with assistance from investment consultant Hartland & Co. and will announce a new CIO within the next several months.
