Jason Mitchell was named co-head of responsible investment at Man Group, a spokeswoman confirmed.
The role is new. Mr. Mitchell works alongside Steven Desmyter, also co-head of responsible investment.
They oversee responsible investment activities across the $112.7 billion firm, ensuring that investment processes and policies identify and integrate operational, governance and strategic risks. They also co-chair Man Group's responsible investment committee.
Mr. Mitchell will also act as adviser on strategies where environmental, social and governance, impact investing, engagement and norms-based screening are principal features. He reports to Sandy Rattray, chief investment officer at Man Group.
Mr. Mitchell was sustainability strategist at Man Group and a member of the responsible investment committee. He will continue to advise Man GLG's European and international team, the spokeswoman said.
"Responsible investing is increasingly important to our business and we see growing client demand for sustainable investment strategies," Mr. Rattray said in a news release.
