DWS added three senior executives into its European institutional client team, a spokeswoman said.
Gareth Davies was named head of U.K. institutional clients. The position is new. Mr. Davies was previously head of client relationship management at Hermes Investment Management. A Hermes spokeswoman could not be reached to comment about a replacement.
Alexia Giugni was named head of institutional clients for southern Europe. The position is new. Ms. Giugni was managing director at UBS.
Shalin Bhagwan was named head of U.K. pensions advisory. The position is also new. Mr. Bhagwan was previously head of fixed income at Ashburton Investments. A spokesman could not be reached to comment about a replacement.
"This is a significant time for all investors with liabilities, including European pension funds and insurers, who continue to diversify their investment portfolios and focus on cash-flow-driven investing," said Thorsten Michalik, co-head of global coverage group and regional head of Europe, Middle East and Africa at DWS, in a news release. "These senior appointments bolster our institutional expertise and capitalize on the demand for (money) management expertise across a range of liquid and illiquid strategies."
DWS has €676 billion ($794 billion) in assets under management.
