Subash Pillai joined Franklin Templeton Investments in Singapore as managing director, head of investment solutions, Asia, including Australia.
Mr. Pillai replaces Simon Coxeter in that role. Mr. Coxeter left to rejoin Mercer as a principal in the consulting firm's hedge fund and equity boutiques.
Mr. Pillai previously served as an executive director in Goldman Sachs Asset Management's fixed-income business in Australia and the firm's global liquidity management team in the Asia-Pacific region, a spokeswoman said. She declined to comment on plans to replace Mr. Pillai in that role.
