Russell Read was named managing director and global head of client solutions at index provider MSCI, Kaitlyn Downing, spokeswoman, said in an email.
It is a new position. Mr. Read will start in September and be based in London. He will report to Laurent Seyer, chief operating officer and chief client officer.
Mr. Read previously was chief investment officer of the $65.1 billion Alaska Permanent Fund Corp., Juneau; he resigned earlier this month.
Marcus Frampton, APFC's director of investments, real assets and absolute return, has been named acting CIO, while CEO Angela Rodell and the board of trustees begin a search process for a permanent replacement.
