Gregoire Blanc was named senior exchange-traded funds capital markets specialist at Vanguard Group, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Mr. Blanc is responsible for supporting the liquidity of Vanguard's products and helping clients achieve investment outcomes.
"We are very focused on expanding our ETF client support and product offering across Europe," said Thomas Merz, head of distribution, Europe excluding the U.K., in a news release. "(Mr. Blanc) brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will help our team ensure clients get the best possible trading experience and achieve the lowest possible trading costs, when buying and selling ETFs."
Mr. Blanc was head of ETF capital markets at Lyxor Asset Management. Information about a replacement could not be immediately learned.
Vanguard's European operations had more than $175 billion in assets under management as of May 31.
