Hawaii Employees' Retirement System, Honolulu, hired Glass Lewis & Co. to provide proxy-voting advisory services pending final business terms and a legal review, Howard Hodel, acting chief investment officer of the $16.3 billion fund, said in an email.
Previously, the pension fund's money managers voted proxies; the system did not vote proxies directly. The pension fund will now vote directly using templates through Glass Lewis, Mr. Hodel said.
