Nebraska Public Power District, Columbus, Neb., hired Empower Retirement as bundled provider of its $623 million 401(k) plan and $41 million 457 plan, according to an award notice posted on the district's procurement website.
The district issued an RFP in March for a single provider for both plans. Wells Fargo is the current provider of the 401(k) plan and ICMA-RC is the current provider of the 457 plan. Whether either firm rebid for the services could not be immediately learned.
Tami Weber, the district's strategic sourcing specialist, and Craig Chaikin, vice president and senior consultant at Segal Marco Advisors, the plans' investment consultant, could not be immediately reached to provide further information.
