Tom Clapham was named head of institutional sales for Asia at Aviva Investors in Singapore.
A spokesman for Aviva said the position — focusing on sovereign wealth funds, government pension funds and insurance companies in North Asia, ex-Japan, and Southeast Asia — is a new one at the firm.
Scott Callander, Aviva's Singapore-based head of client solutions, Asia-Pacific and Middle East, previously oversaw those responsibilities, the spokesman said. Mr. Clapham will report to Mr. Callander.
Mr. Clapham comes to Aviva from AXA Investment Managers, where he served as head of sovereign wealth funds and central banks (Asia), institutional sales and head of consultant relations, according to an Aviva news release.
An AXA Investment Managers spokeswoman couldn't immediately be reached for comment on a replacement.
