The Rev. Thomas J. Brown was named chairman of board of the $13 billion Church Pension Fund, New York, spokesman C. Curtis Ritter confirmed in an email.
Effective July 13, upon the close of the 79th General Convention of the Episcopal Church, Mr. Brown will succeed Barbara B. Creed, who has served as chairwoman since 2015.
Mr. Brown, who has been a board member since 2009, serves as the rector of Parish of the Epiphany in Winchester, Mass.
In addition, Canon Kathryn Weathersby McCormick and The Right Rev. Brian N. Prior have been elected vice chairs, succeeding the Rev. Timothy J. Mitchell and Sandra S. Swan, respectively.
Ms. McCormick currently serves as president of Province IV and has served on the board since 2012. Mr. Prior is the ninth Bishop of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota and has served on the board since 2015.
