Garrett Paolella and Troy Cates have joined Harvest Volatility Management as managing director and head of trading, respectively.
The positions are new.
Mr. Paolella is responsible for bringing new investment strategies to the public market in the form of exchange-traded funds, open-end funds, closed-end funds and UCITs vehicles, a news release said. Mr. Cates will work alongside Mr. Paolella to develop new strategies. They both will report to Harvest's President Curt Brockelman and CEO Rick Selvala.
Mr. Paolella was a managing director and the head of ETFs at Horizons ETFs Management, while Mr. Cates was a managing director and the head of trading at Horizons. It could not be learned by press time if they were replaced; a Horizons spokesman could not be reached.
Harvest Volatility Management has more than $12 billion in assets under management. A spokesman declined to comment beyond what was in the release.
