Alabama Trust Fund, Montgomery, is searching for a small-cap growth equity manager to manage at least $80 million.
Callan, investment consultant for the $3.2 billion state trust fund, is assisting with the search.
Managers must have at least $1 billion in assets under management and have at least $300 million in small-cap growth equity assets as of March 31 to be considered. They must also have at least three years' experience managing small-cap growth equities.
The RFP is available on the state treasury's website. Proposals are due at 5 p.m. EDT July 9. A selection date was not disclosed.
The trust fund — a sovereign wealth fund set up from the state's oil and gas royalties — has an 8% allocation to small-cap equity as of Sept. 30.
State Treasurer Young Boozer and Annoesjka T. West, Callan senior vice president, could not be immediately reached for comment.
