Paul Greff was named chief investment officer of the $99.6 billion Ohio Public Employees' Retirement System, Columbus, said spokesman Michael Pramik in an email.
Mr. Greff becomes CIO effective Monday. Previous CIO Richard D. Shafer, who is retiring, is staying on at OPERS until the end of June, Mr. Pramik said.
Mr. Greff was previously deputy CIO. Mr. Pramik said the pension fund is not currently seeking a replacement.
